Looks the Same to Me

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

What would you do if you spent thousands of dollars at the office of a plastic surgeon and someone walked up to you after the surgery and said, "What did you have done?" People get things tucked and lifted in hopes of others noticing, but what if no one could tell the difference?  Think of this also... I know some whose homes have been damaged by weather. Tornadoes and hurricanes can have devastating results sometimes. I also know some homes that no one would know the difference. If the couch had holes in it, the carpet had all the kitchen food on it, and the bedroom set was scattered and unmade it would be hard to tell the difference between damage and just everyday living.

A very, very sad truth in this is the fact that many have professed to be changed by the Gospel. Professed to be different in Christ Jesus. I have to say it, "Looks the same to me." I understand and teach that the scriptures say come as you are. I know that sinners hung out with Jesus and not him hanging with sinners. I also know that when those people were saved from sin they were forever changed. Their desire to disobey God was changed because of the Holy Spirit now living in the believer leads them to victory.

What if you are that professing Christian and those around you said, "Looks the same to me"? The Word of God says to be transformed. This means to be changed, set apart, holy, different. Wouldn't you love for someone to come up to you after the change through Jesus and say, "There's something different about you"?
