Prayed for by the Savior

John 17:20-21
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

The prayer before Jesus entered into the Garden of Gethsemene was, "Lord make them one like you and I are one". In other words, make them like me and you Father. Take their love for each other to the same level our love is for each other.

Have you ever seen the "Avengers"?  It's a movie made about the Marvel comic book stars. It has the Hulk, Ironman, Thor, Captain America, Hawk Eye and others. During the movie they showed the strengths and the flaws of each character. The Hulk had somewhat of a problem with rage. Captain America was a little gullible. Ironman was prideful and very conceited. Thor had horrible family issues.  But when they saw their need for each other and came together, they won a great victory.

We, the family of God, have many flaws. Some weaknesses are found within the immune system of our body. That's why we need Him!  That's why we can't do it without Him!  There are many members of the body of Christ. But we are supposed to be functioning together as one through Jesus.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body:so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.

Being a part of the body of Christ means that there are broken toes, withered fingers and hands, limping legs, hurting backs, strong arms and great seeing eyes. There are Ironmen, Hulks, Hawk Eyes, etc...  We all have some great strengths as individuals, also great weaknesses. But TOGETHER, oh the things that Christ can do.

Don't miss this now!  If we were all in the same mind, spirit, church or house and Christ is not there, we are NOT together. Only Jesus can bring us together for victory. Only Jesus can bring us together through His strength. And the best part of all..? He's already prayed for this to happen!  He wants us to be one! He wants us to win!  Through all of our flaws, sins, weaknesses, He can make us one for victory.

I heard an old, old story. How a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me
I heard about his groaning, of His precious blood atoning
Then I repented of my sins and won the Victory
Oh Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever
He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood
He loved me ere' I knew Him and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood

Dear Lord, make me one with you so that I can be one with my wife, with my sons, with my family, with my church family.  Let me love like you love and let me live like you desire me to live. I want to be one with you. Thank you for praying for me.
